IT Success for Living Hope Centers

Founded in 1997, Living Hope Centers is a faith-based, pro-life ministry that offers support, education and resources for expectant and new parents and their babies in the White Mountain communities of northern Arizona. The organization has five locations, including a boutique thrift store that raises funds for services and educational classes and four women’s centers. In fact, they operate the only women’s maternity center on an Indian reservation in the U.S.

The Challenge

Living Hope found itself facing several critical technology challenges as it grew from a single location to a multi-center organization with 20 staff members and 30 volunteers.

The staff and volunteers were frustrated with the inefficient, outdated phone system that made communication across locations difficult.

To make matters worse, when computer hardware or software issues arose, no one on staff had the technical expertise to get things up and running again.

The Solution

Sunstate sprung into action and solved Living Hope’s communication issues with a state-of-the-art VoIP phone system and 3CX app for every staff member’s mobile phone.

The VoIP system enables volunteers and staff to reach one another by dialing a simple 3-digit extension, and the easy-to-use, feature-rich mobile app allows for smooth and secure communications while working remotely (especially important during COVID).

Next, Sunstate created a budget-friendly Hardware as a Service (HaaS) plan that provides Living Hope with new, more secure all-in-one computers and other critical IT equipment every three years for a simple monthly fee. They no longer need to limp along with old, slow computers and vulnerable servers.

When COVID restrictions required Living Hope to transition to an online educational platform, Sunstate stepped up to donate iPads which enable students to complete self-guided skills training at their own pace from home.

Finally, Sunstate’s Managed IT service provides Living Hope with Help Desk support and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s entire IT environment, along with onsite support, installations and training as needed.

Sunstate practices “Proactive IT,” ensuring all IT systems are maintained, updated and backed up daily, helping the client to stay ahead of potential issues. In fact, when any issues do arise, they are quickly resolved by Sunstate’s tech team, often before anyone at Living Hope is even aware of a problem.
